ROBERT IHLANG POST 537  NEW LONDON, MN

SQUAD 537 of NEW LONDON

Text Box: Greetings:

We had our Mid-Winter 7th District meeting on Saturday, January 14th. We were saddened to hear that our State SAL Commander Semmel, age 53, had passed away. His funeral was held in Hastings, Minnesota.
At our last meeting, we voted to donate $400 to the disabled deer hunt and $100 to Tenley Thompson.
Please plan on attending our next meeting on February 6th, as we will be nominating officers. We will vote on them at our March meeting. Due to the Legion Birthday Party, we will have our March meeting on Monday, March 12th.
Mark your calendars for the Legion Birthday Party which will be held on Monday, March 5th. Social hour will begin at 6:00 p.m., with the program and dinner at 7:00 p.m. Please sign up in the lounge no later than Friday, March 2nd. Let’s have a good turnout from the SAL.
Also in March, we will be conducting our annual ham and turkey bingo. We will discuss this more at the February meeting. There will be a sign up sheet on the bulletin board at the legion for volunteers to work. Or you may give me a call at 796-5031.
Remember in your prayers all military personnel and their families serving at home and abroad; as well as all veterans who have served our country.

     Respectfully submitted, Brian Gieseke,
                      S.A.L. Commander
