ROBERT IHLANG POST 537  NEW LONDON, MN

Text Box: Greetings:
It’s February and I think winter has arrived. At our January meeting, Judy Kluver showed us items to put in a winter survival kit for our vehicles. We hope the kits are never used, but living in Minnesota winters, we must be prepared.
The Legion had a very successful Mid-Winter Conference. Thank you to the members and chairman Mary Kuperus who assisted the legion staff in serving about 130 people. The Auxiliary Emergency Fund netted $803.00 from the silent auction and cash donations. Thank you to Sandy George and Sandy Wersal for helping display and finalize the event. The morning speaker was from Luverne MN Veterans Home and we thank Becky West for sewing 4 adult bibs for the veterans there.
Our membership goal of 205 is fast approaching. Let’s reach that goal by our Legion Birthday Party on March 5th. Mary Kuperus, membership chairman, has welcomed Carol Larson, Tammy Trout and Robin Burch as new members. This brings our membership to 170 or 82.92%. Help our unit to enroll 35 more members soon.
We are pleased to learn that Violet Manson is home from surgery and recovering nicely.
Our sympathy to the family of Olga Jorgenson and thank you to those who attended the funeral from our unit.
Remember our Veterans with your prayers for safety and their families at home.
                     Respectfully Submitted,
           Marlys Jacobson, Auxiliary President
