ROBERT IHLANG POST 537  NEW LONDON, MN

Text Box: We had one WW11 member, Merrill Hanson, pass away on Tuesday, April 16th.
Services were held at Faith Lutheran Church in Spicer on the 22nd. Per the families wishes, our Honor Guard did not participate.

Gene Hanson and Al Fiskness were transported to ER in Rice Hospital on the same day with strokes. Both are again home. Adjutant Gayland Rooney missed some work with knee surgery at Rice Hospital. Denny Hanson was in the VA in Minneapolis where he had five stents put in. Hugh Geer and Ryland Walsh are in the VA in St Cloud, on the 1st floor in building 50. Both enjoy having visitors.

I would like to congratulate Sidney Rood as the new Commander for the coming year. For those of us who can remember, he has served in that position three times in the past. This will be his fourth term. Nice to know Post 537 will continue to serve the American Legion well in the next year.
